Wellbeing – CSR

There may be times in our careers when life becomes unmanageable and our wellbeing is compromised. We may find that we are suffering fatigue, finding that the most basic tasks overwhelm us and leave us feeling a little drained. It is at times like this that we need to assess our way of living and identify the cause, and recharge the battery to improve our quality of life.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” – C.S. Lewis. This can be as simple as taking a few days holidays to recover and build up our immune system again. It can be a time to assess what is working and what isn’t. A good place to start is to evaluate what is causing this fatigue with life. For some it may be that work life and our personal lives have interruptions on the boundaries between the two, the work-life balance just isn’t working. This can be especially true when work requires us to operate our duties from home. External incidents such as the current covid pandemic have created this dilemma for many employees.

During a time of reflection, we may identify that discipline is needed and a schedule will help with completing tasks more efficiently, leaving us with more time for family activities in the evening. Upon speaking with colleagues, we may identify that we are not alone in this situation. They can provide useful techniques to help create sustainable solutions that can help with rebalancing our lives.

Other solutions can include:

  1. Saying ‘yes’ to family support, to allow for some much needed me-time during stressful times, or to catch up on important tasks.
  2. Saying ‘no’, for now, to extra tasks that eat up our valuable time.
  3. Creating plans for fun activities with family and friends. This can be a great stress reliever and certainly help lift a tired spirit, even though at first the thought of it might create resistance. Getting active also helps take our minds off any stresses that we are going through in life right now.
  4. Seek the support of employers and colleagues. If they understand that life is difficult at this time, they can provide useful suggestions that really help with providing a great solution and outcome.
  5. Start a new wellbeing regime; batch cook dinners for a healthier eating lifestyle, join a local or online community with similar interests, invite friends over for a fun night or start journaling, which can improve clarity on creating additional solutions.
  6. Seek the expertise of a counsellor. This can provide relief from personal issues, conscious or unconscious, that may be restricting our natural flow.
  7. Realise new potentials by asking lots of questions; why is this happening, how can I change to improve, what do I need in my life right now, who can best support me through this time or what do I need to do to make this situation better long-term?

There are many ways to improve our wellbeing. The first step is to know and understand any blockages, and to start the change to a better way of living as soon as it becomes a problem. Most often it is not an easy process. Remember lots of supports and the help of family, friends and colleagues can be a real treasure to help us overcome times of change and self-development.

Celebrate Nurses Across Ireland With Three Q

Do you want to help Three Q to celebrate nurses across Ireland? Here at Three Q we have CSR Policy that is really important to us. In line with this policy, we dedicate ourselves to help improve the professional lives of others. This includes some free initiatives which help people to improve their professional opportunities. We are passionate about people and believe that giving back to our local community is important.

As part of our CSR Policy, our sister company  www.nursejobsireland.com features a charity every month on their website as part of our CSR policy which our staff has input in. We strive to create a company culture that strives to give to others, and isn’t just focused on  personal gain.

Another of Nurse Job Ireland’s campaigns that we are proud to be part of is the #CelebrateNurses Campaign. The  #CelebrateNurses began its life as an internal CSR project of Nurse Jobs Ireland in 2012 – since that time it has expanded to become a nationwide project which we at Three Q hope to try help spread internationally.

#CelebrateNurses provides a space is for the public to leave thanks for nurses who have touched their lives. Nurses are then able to read and feel appreciated for the amazing work that they do. Three Q has years of experience in recruiting nurses. We know just how amazing nurses are,and how much they give to the community around them. With over 19 years of experience in working with nurses, we have met the most giving individuals who work long hours, and whose care is taken for granted. #CelebrateNurses is a campaign close our hearts here at Three Q. With the main aim of giving back to nurses, and thanking them for their work, we also strive to promote nursing as a career choice and for safeguarding the future of the nursing profession.

We’ve been collecting all of the kind comments that patients have left for their nurses, and we’ve created an ebook containing the comments for nurses to read.  As well as this, during International Nurses Week May 6th to 12th annually we collaborate, facilitate and partner with our companies, community groups and employers to #CelebrateNurses and to create greater awareness of this global celebration of Nurses.

May is a long time away, however the platform is accessible 24/7, and we are currently collecting comments for our 2018 #CelebrateNurses week. If you want to leave thanks to a nurse that has helped you or a loved one, you can click here to get invloved, or tweet us using the hashtag #CelebrateNurses with your comments and suggestions.

Three Q and Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility is something that we feel passionate about here at Three Q. You may often hear the term ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ and not know exactly what it means.  There are many definitions of Corporate Social Responsibility and various terminologies are used, from ‘CSR’ to ‘Corporate Citizenship’, from ‘sustainability’ to ‘triple-bottom-line initiatives’.

Here at Three Q, we like go by the ideals of the European Commission who state  ‘the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society”. This is something that we very much believe in. At Three Q we want to give back to the community and do our part to enhance the society that we live in. To fully meet this responsibility, in addition to respect for applicable legislation and collective agreements between social partners, the European Commission suggests that enterprises “should have in place a process to integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights and consumer concerns into their business operations and core strategy in close collaboration with their stakeholders, with the aim of maximising the creation of shared value for their owners/shareholders, other stakeholders and society at large, and identifying, preventing and mitigating their possible adverse impacts”.

We see Corporate Social Responsibility as a way for us to help those who could use our expertise in the recruitment industry. As part of our CSR policy, Three Q dedicate ourselves to truly help people to improve their professional opportunities through a number of free initiatives that we provide. We are passionate about people and believe that giving back to our local community is important.

Our CSR policy aims to help people under the Three Pillars that we have set out. These pillars are the Unemployed, Job Seekers and Organisations we work with. Under this policy we aim to promote employment, improve skills and support charities. We do this through promotion, fundraising and representation.

Three Q PERMS & TEMPS are passionate about people. Below we’ve listed some of the organisations and individuals that we’ve worked with as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

JobCare

JobCare is an organisation committed to working with people caught in the trap of unemployment. Jobcare’s purpose is to help people gain the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to secure appropriate work. Three Q Perms & Temps have been in partnership since 2009 with JobCare. Our staff support candidates and unemployed people by giving time every month to perform mock interviews and follow ups.

Spare an Hour Campaign

Three Q Perms & Temps encourages staff involvements and allocates time spent on CSR activities within office hours. This is the office team handing over the cheque to Dublin Simon in December 2017 after our Spare an Hour fundraising campaign.

Industry Events

Three Q Perm and Temps supports Industry Events. For example, we attended the IHI Jobs which are specifically aimed at people on the live register and focused on the catering industry. Our management team and recruiters attend networking events such as NRF & JobCare.

Celebrate Nurses

In 2012, we successfully launched our Celebrate Nurses campaign in support of international nurses week, which has since turned into a nationwide campaign #celebratenurses. Read our eBook of appreciation from patients here : www.celebratenurses.ie.

Go Green

Three Q Perms & Temps practice a number of green business activities, because of this we continue to Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. A Small Company With A Big Heart – Three Q’s Recent CSR Activities

CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and  Giving Back To The Community Is A Priority For Us.

Here at Three Q, we believe that it is extremely important to give back. We may be a small company, but luckily for us we have a great team with very big hearts! You would be surprised by what we can achieve when our team comes together. (Sometimes we surprise ourselves!)

We always listen to our community and our employees and try to make a difference in whatever way we can!

Here’s a few things that we have been up to this month.

Spare an Hour

We recently ran an internal campaign called Spare An Hour.

This was a campaign in which our entire office and temp staff, donated an hour of their wages to a charity as voted by them. We asked our team to nominate a charity they would like us to support. The charity with the majority vote would be the winner and our winner was The Dublin Simon Community.

We are absolutely over the moon with the results of this campaign and delighted to announce that as a team we raised over €1,167. As a company, we are matching that donation to bring our total donation to €2334.40.

This is such an incredible result and we are so proud of everyone that took part, so Thank you again to all of you that were so generous with your donations!

Dogs Aid

Some of our team members recently visited the Dogs Aid animal sanctuary to visit our newest and cutest team member, Olive.

Dogs Aid is a charity that we very much admire (We are a liiiittle bit dog crazy in the office!). So we decided to adopt Olive. She is a beautiful little Shih-tzu who was found by a very kind man behind bins in City West. When she was found she was already missing one of her eyes. Her other eye was badly damaged and unfortunately had to be later removed. Her sight does not slow her down at all and she can keep up with all of her little doggy friends in the sanctuary!

Once you meet Olive you can see how much she appreciates a cuddle and we are definitely happy to give her one! As a team we look forward to being more involved with Dogs Aid. We hope to visit often and help to raise awareness for such a caring and hard-working community. Visiting the dogs and meeting the volunteers was inspirational. We got to see all of the hard work that goes into the running of the animal sanctuary.

A huge part of our business is giving back to our local community and we are very committed to our CSR policy. We’re all about making a difference. It’s always important to give back and work with charities, especially at this time of year.

We really admire the work that volunteers do for organisations like the Dublin Simon Community and Dogs Aid.

We want to say a massive thank you to all involved in both. You inspire all of us every day.
